Wall technology
Behind the panelling: our sandwich construction
In Medan’s climate, a sauna’s lifespan is decided by what you never see. These five layers keep our cabins dry, efficient and mould-free for years.
- Outer panelTimber or the room wall — the cabin’s outer face.
- Frame + 50–100 mm rockwoolBasalt mineral wool: stable above 200°C with no organic binders. Styrofoam/EPS is never used — it melts and off-gasses at sauna temperatures.
- Aluminium-foil vapour barrierOn the warm side of the wall, seams overlapped 5 cm and sealed with foil tape — steam never reaches the insulation.
- Battens + 20 mm air gapVertical battens over the foil: they reflect heat back and let moisture evaporate — the wood stays dry.
- Cedar / thermowood interiorThe layer you touch: hidden fixings, no hot metal.
This is why we can put a 2-year warranty in writing — and why saunas built without foil grow mould within 2–3 years.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a sauna cost in Medan?
As a guide: a custom 2×2 m home dry sauna runs IDR 60–120 million, an infrared cabin IDR 30–70 million, a steam room IDR 50–100 million, an outdoor sauna cabin IDR 80–150 million, and commercial saunas start from IDR 150 million. All figures are indicative — see the pricing page.
How long does the build take?
A home sauna takes 2–4 weeks on site plus 1–2 weeks for materials to arrive. Infrared cabins install in 1–2 days, outdoor cabins in 1–2 weeks, steam rooms need 3–5 weeks because the waterproofing must cure properly, and commercial projects run 4–8 weeks.
Which areas do you cover?
We are based in Medan Baru and regularly build in Medan Polonia, Medan Johor, Medan Selayang, Deli Serdang and up in Berastagi in the Karo highlands. Local notes for each district are on the areas page.
Can I build a sauna myself?
Partly — the frame and panelling are realistic DIY if you are comfortable with carpentry. The wiring, the heater and the vapour barrier are better left to a specialist. We wrote an honest guide: how to build your own sauna.

Site survey and measurements, a 3D design with an itemized quote, materials and installation, safe wiring, a test heat-up and a written warranty — one WhatsApp chat carries the whole project. Package details are on the services page.
How do I order via WhatsApp?

What warranty do you give?
The structure carries a written 2-year warranty; Harvia, Sawo and Tylo heaters come with a 1–2 year factory warranty and spare parts available through us. Every handover includes a full test heat-up together with you.
Medan is hot already — does a sauna make sense?
Sauna heat is different: dry air at 70–90°C with 10–20% humidity, nothing like a sticky 33°C afternoon. That contrast is exactly why the relaxation and recovery effects work. We unpack it in sauna in a tropical climate.

A sauna rarely stands alone. These three are the add-ons most often bolted onto a project — built together with your sauna or added later.
Steam room
45°C at full humidity: a proper steam generator, complete waterproofing, floor sloped to the drain and a mosaic finish. Often built right next to the dry sauna.
