About us: the sauna builders of Medan Baru
Kontraktor Sauna Medan is a small crew of carpenters and electricians working out of Medan Baru. Over three years and 100+ handovers we have put dry saunas, steam rooms, infrared cabins and garden cabins into houses, villas, gyms, spas and hotels from Greater Medan up to Berastagi. Below: who does the work, what we refuse to compromise on, and how a build runs from the first photo to the first heat-up.
Who actually builds your sauna
The company was started by Artem after seeing too many Medan saunas built like timber wardrobes: no foil barrier, no air gap behind the boards, a heater wired into a kitchen circuit — and mould or a dead element inside two years. We build in the opposite order: wiring and ventilation first, the pretty cedar last.
Three trades do the work and nobody else. Carpenters who come from interior finishing and cut the boards themselves; electricians who size the 6–9 kW heater supply against your PLN connection before anything is ordered; and one coordinator who answers your WhatsApp from the first photo to the handover test. You are never passed to a call centre, because there isn’t one.
Four rules we do not bend
Imported wood or nothing. Walls and ceilings in western red cedar, Scandinavian spruce or thermowood; benches in aspen or abachi, which stay cool against the skin at 90 °C. Heaters are Harvia, Sawo or Tylo, with spare parts in stock and a 1–2 year factory warranty.
Prices on the page before the chat. Every service page carries an indicative IDR range, so you can rule us in or out without sending a message. After the survey you get an itemised quote, line by line, at no charge.
Built for 80% humidity. Medan air is wet twelve months a year, so every cabin gets an aluminium-foil vapour barrier, a ventilated air gap behind the panelling and supply-and-exhaust vents sized for the room volume. Skip any one of those and a sauna here grows mould within two or three rainy seasons.
No chasing. We answer your questions, send the 3D design and the quote, and leave the decision with you. There is no follow-up message asking whether you have decided yet.
How a build runs, from first photo to first heat-up
Everything lives in one WhatsApp thread. You send photos and the room dimensions; we book a free survey anywhere in Greater Medan and come back with a 3D design and the itemised quote. A 50% deposit confirms the project. Imported boards and the heater land within one to two weeks through importers’ warehouses in Jakarta and Surabaya, and a home sauna is normally a contained four-week job on site.
Handover is a full test heat-up with you in the room — you watch the temperature climb and try the controls yourself — plus a written 2-year warranty on the structure, with the heater keeping its own factory cover. Surveys run daily across Greater Medan, Berastagi is on a weekly schedule, and other North Sumatra sites are visited by arrangement.
Not sure a sauna makes sense in your house at all? Send the room photos anyway — if it is a bad idea, we will say so, free of charge.
Send us the room, we send back the numbers
Three facts get a real answer within working hours: the room size, the part of Medan the house is in, and the kind of sauna you have in mind. Back comes heater sizing, a realistic IDR range and a survey date — no phone call needed.
We usually reply within 1–2 hours (08:00–20:00 WIB)
