Who we are

I’m Artem, the founder. Kontraktor Sauna Medan grew out of a simple observation: in a tropical climate, saunas are often built like ordinary wooden closets — no vapour barrier, no ventilation, improvised wiring — and then rot or fail within two or three years. We build the opposite way: correct engineering from day one.

The team is deliberately small: carpenters with interior-finishing backgrounds, electricians who understand what a 6–9 kW heater demands, and one coordinator who holds your WhatsApp chat from the first message to handover. Small means the person you talk to is the person responsible for your project.

What we believe

Honest materials. Interiors are imported wood only — western red cedar, Scandinavian spruce or thermowood — with aspen or abachi benches that never scorch. Our heaters are Harvia, Sawo and Tylo: imported, with spare parts on hand and a 1–2 year factory warranty.

Open pricing. Indicative ranges are published on every service page, so you can compare options before writing a single message. The final quote is always itemized, line by line, and free after the survey.

Tropical engineering. Medan sits at roughly 80% humidity all year round; without an aluminium-foil vapour barrier, supply-and-exhaust ventilation and an air gap behind the panelling, any sauna grows mould within 2–3 years. Those invisible details are the most valuable part of our craft.

No sales pressure. We answer questions, send the design and the quote, then wait. The decision stays entirely yours.

How we work

One WhatsApp thread carries everything: your brief, a free survey slot, the 3D design with an itemized quote, material orders and coordination during installation. Once the design is approved, a 50% deposit starts the project; imported materials arrive within 1–2 weeks via warehouses in Jakarta and Surabaya.

Every project closes with a full test heat-up together with you and a written 2-year structural warranty. We build across North Sumatra — from Greater Medan up to weekend villas in Berastagi.
